What started with me attending an open house in my mom’s neighborhood after a whisper of the possibility that Cody and I might get a house together again eventually led to an 8-month journey that I didn’t expect. We looked at every area in the Tri-Cities, in every price range, waiting for that unicorn I didn’t think existed. Whew, what a ride! I met Laura Swecker Holtsclaw and instantly hit it off with her because I related to her so much as a single mom, and I definitely admired her for all the ways I’d want to be as a mom, friend, and hard worker. Her tenacity is unmatched, and she did things that most realtors wouldn’t even bother worrying about. She was our advocate, therapist, friend, “other mommy” to our kids; she is simply good at what she does. If I had a question, she made sure I understood and explained everything. I could text her anytime, even if it was just a GIF that described the frustration we were going through at the moment. She always understood! With that being said, we finally closed on our home on 8-19 at 9 pm, signing our paperwork in the dark with worn-out kids. And even though Laura couldn’t be there physically, she still made sure we were taken care of and addressed any issues from 2 hours away. It wasn’t the ideal closing situation I’d hoped for after everything we’d been through, but we got it done! All the ups and downs were worth it, and I’m so very thankful our paths crossed. We finally got to celebrate and catch up. It’s just not the same, not going to look at houses together every week. Highly recommend Laura C. Holtsclaw, Realtor, Keller Williams.
